Muay Thai Kickboxing is a devastating striking art that blends techniques such as; kicks, knees, elbows, punches, and clinch work. Kickboxing develops speed, power, and cardio, as well as cultivates the warrior spirit.

Traditionally, fighters all over the world seek Muay Thai Kickboxing (which we emphasize in our classes) to improve their effectiveness, and give themselves the edge in the ring. Muay Thai is arguably the most sought-after kickboxing style in the world and has come to be dubbed "the Art of Eight Limbs".

Not to be confused with main stream cardio kickboxing classes, MarinMMA kickboxing represents authentic fight training for practitioners of all levels.  This is a high energy class where students can burn up to 800 calories in a workout! Kickboxing training is very safe thanks to sophisticated pad training that evolved to keep fighters healthy between fights.

Students will learn fundamental punches, kicks, elbows and knees. Classes consist of footwork skills, shadow boxing, drills, pad work, heavy bag training and various partner coordination drills. Sparring is available for intermediate and advanced students. If one does not wish to spar, then that is perfectly fine. We do not make anyone do anything that is out of their comfort level.

"Muay Thai" is what the Thai people call their own martial art. The word "Muay" (pronounced "moo-ai") means boxing. In ancient times, since advanced weapons were not invented yet, people in war had only swords, staffs, and lances to use. Thailand had to encounter and fight with many marauders to protect their communities. The Krabi (swords)-Krabong (staffs) arts was specially taught to soldiers to be able to fight.

Muay Thai is a self-defense art taught together with Krabi-Krabong to be used when soldiers have to fight without weapons At times soldiers can fall into trouble such as losing their weapons and having to do hand-to-hand fighting.

Muay Thai is the art of using human's toughest organics such as head, fists, elbows, knees and feet as weapons to hurt enemies. People have said that Muay Thai is one of the most powerful and deadly martial arts!

Presently, as war time has gone, Muay Thai has been developed into self-defense, fitness programs and professional sports, which using gloves and fight within standard regulations. Muay Thai is well known not only for Thais, but also for everyone in the world.
