Mixed Martial Arts Training & ClassesMarinMMA’s mixed martial arts training and classes incorporate all of the styles that have been proven in MMA competition. We incorporate Muay Thai Kickboxing, boxing, wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu into what has developed into the most effective martial art style in the world. This allows us to understand and grasp both the concepts of fighting on the ground as well as standing up, and then to meld them together into one complete fighting style.

Through drilling, pad work, no-gi jiu jitsu, and controlled sparring we teach out students how to combine their stand up with their ground game in an effective manner.

Competing in Mixed Martial Arts

In order to compete in mixed martial arts, one has to be training consistently in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai Kickboxing, and our Mixed Martial Arts class for one year. You have to be well rounded in striking and grappling. We require that our competitors are in good physical condition as well. Please just enjoy training and work on your technique and cardio. Once you've been training for a couple of months you can inform Mikyo that you are considering competing in MMA one day. Competition is not a requirement to advance in the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu belt system.

If you do decide to compete, all that Mikyo asks of you is consistency and loyalty. If you put your all into training he will do the same for you in his coaching.
