Marin MMA offering extraordinary Student Manager / Office Assistant Job in Marin!

Marin MMA is looking for administrative support in the area of membership sign-ups, current member customer service, selling and maintaining inventory, event planning, social media skills, and other general office work.  This is a creative, fun, and flexible work environment that includes three days a week of martial arts training!

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills (Mac savy, Word, Excel, Calendars, Email, etc.)
  • Reliable, self-starter, detail oriented and efficient multi-tasker
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Consistent availability for work
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work towards deadlines
  • Excellent social skills and flexibility
  • Over 18 years of age

Hours and Compensation
20-35 hours available between 9:00AM and 8:30PM, Monday through Saturday.  Must be available during the hours of active business operation at least three days a week, which occur Monday through Thursday from 3-7PM. Pay is negotiable based on prior experience. Includes three days a week of martial arts training in any of the classes offered at Marin MMA, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing, and many more specialty classes.

Ideally, but not required, you are experienced in:
 – Prior martial arts training, particularly MMA, Kickboxing, Jiu-Jitsu
– One to two years of sales, leadership, and/or office/administrative experience, preferably in a gym setting
– Email Newsletter creation (Constant Contact, iContact, HTML, etc.)
– WordPress blogging and/or website maintenance
– Member-tracking software like MyVolo, Mind Body, or Champions Way
– Promoting businesses via social media, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
– Good at remembering names – you will need to greet every member as they come in

Job Description includes, but is not limited to:
 – Screening and directing phone calls
– Answering emails
– Setting up and managing appointments, intro lessons for new leads
– Selling memberships
– Tracking new clients and customers statistics
– Exercising creativity to market to specific populations
– Inventory control
– Giving support to supervisor and other staff when needed
– Coordinating meetings
– Monthly newsletters
– Coordinating and executing Marin MMA belt tests, community parties, fund raisers, and other events
– Providing customer support to current members; making weekly calls to members to evaluate customer satisfaction
