Adult BJJ Competition

MarinMMA’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition training allows members to take their training to the next level. Competition is an extension of what one learns on the mat. It is taking what you know and seeing how you do against someone who has never rolled with you before. Competing is not mandatory and is not a requirement to be promoted in the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu belt system.

Competition is a rewarding and fun experience. We want to make sure that everyone is mentally and physically safe before they compete. Students are required to complete small homework assignments that will guide them to look at their Jiu Jitsu game to improve it.

Sports psychology talks are also given to the students to give them a healthy competitive mind frame. MarinMMA members must be at least 14 years of age, have at least one stripe on their white belt, and have a MarinMMA patch on their gi.

Along with mentally preparing someone for a competition, this class is a controlled intensive rolling class. Students usually will roll for one hour. The rounds can vary from 2 minutes, to 5 minutes, to 10 minutes depending on the day.

Each and every instructor utilizes the “MarinMMA Method”- a proven system of training perfected over several lifetimes of training and winning.
