Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Belt Promotion Guidelines


Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Promotion Guidelines

  1. A student must attend six months of classes in order to be eligible for promotion. Promotion is based on attendance, technique, and attitude.

  2. A student must have 4 stripes on their belt before they are eligible to receive their next belt.

  3. Testing eligibility and belt progression is at the sole discretion of Mikyo Riggs.

  4. If one is eligible for the next belt test their name will be posted on the white board by the mat.

Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Promotion Guidelines

  1. A student must attend 30 classes before their next belt test in order to be eligible to attend. Promotion is based on attendance, technique, and attitude.

  2. A student must have 4 stripes on their belt before they are eligible to receive their next belt.

  3. Testing eligibility and belt progression is at the sole discretion of Mikyo Riggs.

  4. If one is eligible for the next belt test their name will be posted on the white board by the mat.

  5. KIDS BJJ students are REQUIRED to fill out an "Intent to Promote Form" before the test date if they are eligible to test.

Little Lions Promotion Guidelines

  1. Belt tests will be given once every three months.

  2. A student must attend 20 classes before their next belt test to be eligible for their next belt.

  3. All eligible student names will be posted on the white board by the mat.

  4. Each Little Lion student is REQUIRED to fill out an "Intent to Promote Form" before the test date if they are eligible to test.
